Vanessa Scott has a wealth of experience in product operations, user experience research, technical writing, business analysis, translation, and teaching. Vanessa began their career in 1999 as a Consultant providing services such as technical writing, technical translating, and business analysis. From 1996 to 1999, they were a Translator/Teacher at Fraunhofer IML, translating documents from German to English in the field of logistics and teaching business, technical, and conversational English to German, Polish, Turkish, and Italian citizens in Germany. In 2000, they joined Quest Software (now Dell Software) as a Technical Communicator/Technical Trainer, writing task-based procedures and contextual information for numerous user guides, quick start guides, and online help systems for multiple releases of software applications. Vanessa also initiated and led a single sourcing project. From 2008 to 2014, they worked at Nanometrics Seismological Instruments as a Technical Documentation/Business Analyst/Technical Trainer, writing task-based procedures and contextual information for numerous user guides, quick start guides, online help systems, and mobile help systems for multiple releases of software applications and hardware devices. Vanessa also conducted interviews with Subject Matter Experts and performed extensive research to determine the goals and tasks of users. From 2014 to 2016, they were a Consultant at Shared Services Canada, working on the Email Transformation Initiative. Finally, from 2016 to 2022, they worked at Trend Micro as a Product Operations Manager, Support specialist, Product Operations Manager for Pendo, Product Manager for Customer Support, Documentation, and Customer Success, User Experience Researcher, and Information Developer. Vanessa is currently Global Product Operations Manager at Lansweeper.

Vanessa Scott obtained a B.A. in Theirtory from Wilfrid Laurier University between 1989 and 1993. Vanessa also attended Etobicoke Collegiate Institute. In 2017, they obtained a UX certificate in UX research from the Nielsen Norman Group in May. Additionally, they obtained a Certificate of Accomplishment in Technical Writing from the Nova Scotia Community College in August 2002.
