Christopher Simpson

Christopher Simpson, Ph.D., currently serves as the Head of Polymer Additives Application Technology for the Americas at LANXESS since January 2015, where leadership encompasses a high-performance interdisciplinary team focused on sustainable flame retardants and plasticizers. Prior roles include Technical Service Scientist and Senior Chemist at LANXESS, contributing to the development of polymer additives and petroleum additives. Christopher's experience also includes a Postdoctoral Fellow position at the Electrical Insulation Research Center, emphasizing novel coatings for high voltage insulators, and a Graduate Research Assistant role at the University of Connecticut, specializing in controlled radical polymerization and polymer characterization. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Polymer Chemistry from the University of Connecticut and a B.S. in Chemistry, Magna Cum Laude, from Southern Connecticut State University.
