Blair Salter

Head Coach For The Young Artist Program at LA Opera

Blair Salter has a rich and diverse work experience in the opera industry. Starting as a Pianist at the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts in 2018, Salter went on to hold various roles such as Studio Pianist/Coach at Houston Grand Opera, Repetiteur at Opera Colorado, and Assistant Chorus Master at The Santa Fe Opera. Most recently, Salter worked as Music Staff at San Francisco Opera and then moved on to become Head Coach for the Young Artist Program at LA Opera in 2023. Throughout this journey, Salter has showcased expertise in opera coaching, conducting, and choral direction.

Blair Salter completed a Bachelor of Music in Honours Piano Performance from Western University in 2010, followed by a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from Western University in 2012. They went on to earn a Doctor of Musical Arts in Collaborative Piano from the University of Michigan in 2017. Additionally, Blair holds an Associate Diploma in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music.
