Brian Buchner is the Assistant Inspector General at the LAPD Office of the Inspector General. With a background in criminal justice, Brian served as a Police Special Investigator for the LAPD and held various leadership roles, including Commissioner for the City of Santa Monica's Social Services Commission and Chief of Homelessness Operations & Street Strategies with the Office of Mayor Eric Garcetti. As an academic, Brian is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at USC and a Senior Fellow at both UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs and the Policing Project. Brian has also been a board member for several organizations, including the National Association for Civilian Oversight of Law Enforcement and Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship, demonstrating a commitment to community service and effective policing.
