René de Heer

René de Heer is a senior omgevingsmanager and trainer specializing in crisis management and communication. Since September 2022, they have served as the director and co-owner of Dr2 SOM, guiding companies and organizations to build support for policies impacting the physical environment. In addition to training municipal officials through Cuijpers Consultancy, René is an active board member for several organizations, including the Landgoed Vilsteren and Larcom. From 2011 to 2022, they held multiple roles as a city councilor in Zwolle, overseeing various portfolios and leading efforts in crisis response. René holds a master's degree in history from the University of Groningen and a teaching certificate in geography and history from Christelijke Hogeschool Windesheim.
