Heather Drexler

Heather Drexler has a strong background in genetics and genomics, with a focus on computational research and biotechnology. Heather began their career as an undergraduate researcher at Princeton University, where they utilized computational tools to study protein development in a specific ciliate. Following their undergraduate studies, Heather joined the Marine Biological Laboratory as a research student, gaining experience in laboratory techniques and research methodologies.

In 2013, Heather pursued a PhD in Genetics and Genomics at Harvard University. Their research focused on drug sensitivity prediction in solid tumors, and they conducted molecular assays and background research to identify an appropriate measure for drug efficacy using mouse xenograft tumors. During their time at Harvard, they also worked as an intern at Kibur Medical, a biotechnology start-up in the lab of Robert Langer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In this role, they performed various molecular assays and contributed to the development of a novel diagnostic tool.

After completing their PhD, Heather joined Clarion | A Life Sciences Consultancy as a senior associate, working their way up to the position of manager. Heather provided strategic consulting services to clients in the life sciences industry, leveraging their expertise in genetics and genomics to offer valuable insights and recommendations.

Currently, Heather is set to join Laronde as the Associate Director of Strategy in December 2022. Their diverse experience in research, biotechnology, and strategic consulting positions their well for this role.
