John Dwyer

John Dwyer has a diverse work experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. John currently serves as the Head of Protein Design at Laronde since July 2022. Prior to this, they were the CEO of 48HD BioPharma, Inc from May 2021 to May 2022. Before that, they held the position of Vice President Research at 48Hour Discovery INC. from March 2019 to February 2022.

John Dwyer also has extensive experience in protein engineering and research. John worked as a Director of the Protein Engineering/Phage Display group at Ferring Pharmaceuticals from July 2017 to December 2018. Before that, they were a Senior Scientist at Ferring Pharmaceuticals from May 2013 to July 2017. Prior to Ferring Pharmaceuticals, John worked at Pfizer as a Principal Scientist from October 2010 to May 2013, where they led peptide phage display screening campaigns for various projects.

Earlier in their career, John Dwyer held the position of Senior Research Investigator at b3 bio from November 2008 to October 2010, where they focused on the identification and delivery of therapeutic molecules. John also worked as a Senior Scientist in Antibody Engineering at MedImmune from 2007 to 2008 and as a Principal Investigator in Protein Engineering at Trimeris from 2000 to 2007.

John Dwyer began their career as a Postdoc in Biochemistry at the University of Chicago from August 1998 to January 2000. John then worked as a Postdoc in Protein Engineering at Genentech from December 1996 to August 1998.

John Dwyer obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from the New College of Florida, where they attended from 1985 to 1989. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued a PhD in Biophysics at The Johns Hopkins University, completing their doctoral program from 1990 to 1996.
