Antonio Appon

Antonio Appon is a Regulatory & Compliance Counsel at Laser Digital (Nomura Group), where they advise on legal and regulatory matters pertaining to digital assets and decentralized finance. Currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Zurich, Antonio's research focuses on the regulatory frameworks of decentralized finance (DeFi). Prior to their current role, they worked as a Legal Counsel at a top-tier law firm and as a Regulatory Counsel in an asset management firm, contributing to fintech initiatives and compliance. Antonio holds a master's degree in law from the University of Padua, as well as additional qualifications from prestigious institutions including the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the University of Sydney. Passionate about innovation, they are involved in blockchain education for students and also engage in martial arts and music outside of work.
