Ferenc Kun has a strong background in engineering and software development, with a focus on security and team management. Ferenc started their career at the Department of Software Engineering, University of Szeged, where they developed test management software and participated in the development of multi-tier applications.
Ferenc then joined Evosoft as a Software Developer, where they contributed to the development of TIA-Portal using MDD and C#. Ferenc also took on leadership roles within the SINUMERIK team and organized a technical meetup called TechClub.
After that, Ferenc worked at Kitchen Budapest as a Lead Developer, managing a small developer team and developing mobile and web applications. Ferenc also worked as a front-end engineer, focusing on smart devices and assisting with back-end tasks using Node.js and MongoDB.
Ferenc then transitioned to LastPass, where they held various roles including Director of Engineering, Senior Engineering Manager, and Security Engineering Manager. In these roles, they were responsible for driving the DevSecOps transformation of the organization, refining the operating model for platform teams, building a dedicated security team, and leading compliance and security assessments. Ferenc also took care of people management and employee development as an Engineering Manager.
Ferenc Kun attended Petőfi Sándor Kéttannyelvű Gimnázium from 2002 to 2007, where they studied German Studies. After completing their high school education, they pursued a bachelor's degree in computer economics at the University of Szeged from 2007 to 2011. During this time, they focused on MVVM architecture and design patterns with WPF. In 2016, Ferenc participated in adult education at Best-Work Kft., where they studied to become an Assistant Psychologist. In the same year, they obtained a certification as a Psychological Assistant from Best-Work Oktató és Szolgáltató Kft. Ferenc also obtained a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification from Scrum Alliance in 2016.
