Lawrence Park was founded in 1910 as a company town serving the newly constructed General Electric manufacturing plant. Designed in the “garden city” style, it was envisioned from the start as a place where working families could thrive. With tree-lined boulevards and small parks woven throughout the neighborhood, Lawrence Park offered residents one of the highest qualities of life available for its time.

Since its official incorporation as Erie County’s only First-Class Township, Lawrence Park has retained its small-town charm and neighborly spirit. We are a welcoming community of approximately 3,800 residents with a proud history and an active civic life. Our thriving business district includes many places to shop or grab a bite! Including the historic and nationally recognized Lawrence Park Dinor.

We take pride in being a place where people care for one another, honor the past, and invest in a brighter future. Be sure to join us for our annual Fourth of July celebration, our year-round, family-friendly activities, and our Centennial in 2026. It is the perfect time to reconnect and celebrate the best of Lawrence Park Township.
