Matthew Slater

Matthew Slater serves as the Global Head of Precious Metals Forwards & Physical Trading at UBS, where they lead a team from New York and possess over 20 years of experience in the precious metals market. They manage a global team of three traders based in Zurich and London and previously held the role of regional risk manager for the US time zone. Earlier in their career at UBS, Matthew specialized in Interest Rate Derivatives and held positions from operations analyst to junior trader. Matthew holds a B.Eng (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering from The University of Birmingham and has also been elected to the Board of Directors of the London Bullion Market Association in 2023. Before entering finance, they worked as an Industrial Engineer for Motorola Inc. in the cellular handset division.
