Brian Rector has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and companies. Brian began their career in 1996 at Pellissippi State College as a Computer Technician and Macintosh System Administrator, where they worked until 2000. During this time, they were responsible for maintaining, installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repairing Apple products on campus. Brian also handled tasks related to network administration and user accounts on both Macintosh and Microsoft NT servers.
Following their time at Pellissippi State College, Brian joined Scripps Networks in 2000 as a Computer Hardware Specialist. In this role, they installed and configured computer hardware components, printers, and operating systems for both Apple Macintosh and Windows systems. Brian also assisted with inter-office moves, transportation of hardware, and responded to user workstations' assistance calls. Their tenure at Scripps Networks lasted until 2003.
In 2004, Brian started working at Comcast as a Tier 3 High Speed Internet Specialist. Their responsibilities included providing support for high-speed cable modems, setting up accounts, and troubleshooting desktop connectivity issues. Brian only remained in this role for a few months before transitioning to their next position.
That same year, Brian returned to Scripps Networks in a different role as an Information Security Compliance Analyst II. Brian held this position for over a decade, until 2015. As an analyst, they ensured compliance with information security protocols and standards within the company.
In 2016, Brian joined The IT Company LLC as a Systems Administrator II. During their time there, they worked on system administration tasks and contributed till 2018.
Currently, Brian works at LBMC Technology Solutions since 2018, where they started as a Support Engineer in Network Engineering. Brian was promoted to the role of Support Engineer II in January 2021, and their responsibilities in this position are ongoing.
Brian Rector's education history begins in 1990 when they attended Bearden High School. Brian completed their high school education in 1994, although it is unclear if they obtained a degree or pursued any specific field of study during this time. In 1994, they went on to study Computer Science at Pellissippi State Community College, where they earned an Associates of Arts degree in Computer Science in 2000.
