James Upton

James Upton serves as the COO for Repo Clearing and Collateral/Liquidity businesses at LCH Ltd within the LSEG Post Trade division since January 2014. Upton has extensive experience managing relationships with agent banks, ICSDs, and CSDs and shaping strategies for LCH's Repo and Equity Clearing business. Previous roles include leadership in securities middle office operations at Goldman Sachs, where responsibilities encompassed global funding and Repo trade management, project management for funding operations across EMEA, and managing teams focused on capital, liquidity, and risk assessment functions. Upton began a career in operations at GlobeOp Financial Services and Fidelity International, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Politics from the University of Southampton.
