Stuart Nelson

Stuart Nelson serves as an Independent Consultant at Stuart Nelson Consulting since December 2018 and has been with the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) since October 1990, currently holding the position of Senior Vice President of Transmission Business Development. In this role, Stuart oversees the development and expansion of electric transmission and telecommunication systems, establishing long-term relationships with utility partners. Previous positions at LCRA include Senior Vice President of Project Services, Executive Manager of Transmission Services, and Manager of Asset Development, among others, where responsibilities spanned project management, construction, engineering, and operational oversight of extensive transmission networks. Stuart's career began at West Texas Utilities and Central Power and Light, where foundational roles included engineering and system planning. Stuart holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
