Yvette Gentry has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Yvette currently serves as the Director of Resident and Community Safety at LDG Development, LLC since 2022. Before that, they were the Executive Director at the Rajon Rondo Foundation from 2018 to 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the Project Director at Metro United Way from 2017 to 2022. Yvette also has experience in law enforcement, having served as the interim Chief of Police at the Louisville Metro Police Department from 2020 to 2021, and as the Deputy Chief of Police at the Louisville Metro Police Dept. from 1990 to 2014. Additionally, they held the role of Chief of Community Building at the Mayor's Office from 2015 to 2017.
Yvette Gentry has a Bachelor of Science degree in Workforce Development and Training from the University of Louisville, which they completed in 2011. Yvette also earned a Certificate in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design from the University of Louisville in 2008. Between the years 1988 and 1996, they were enlisted in the United States Army National Guard as a Personal Records Specialist.
