LDS provides comprehensive, expert learning supports to children, youth and adults with learning challenges. Our primary program—RISE (Research-informed Individualized Student Education)—targets student-specific learning needs and provides one-to-one, customized, evidence-based, remedial instruction. Our mission is to empower children and youth with learning differences to recognize their unique strengths and develop tools to achieve confidence and success. 

Since 1970, LDS has served everyone, including the most vulnerable children in our community by making our programs financially accessible. LDS is focused on promoting community awareness and fostering a greater understanding of the issues and challenges faced by children with learning differences. Through early intervention, we make a transformative difference in the learning and life outcomes of students. Our ultimate goal is to effect system change with wide-ranging societal benefits.

Administrative Services

The Education and Instructional Roles team at LDS is dedicated to delivering individualized, evidence-based instruction tailored to the unique learning needs of students with challenges. Comprising a diverse group of instructors and specialists, this team implements the RISE program, providing one-on-one support while developing customized learning strategies to foster student confidence and success. They also play a vital role in program design and refinement to ensure the effectiveness of interventions across all age groups.

The Communication and Community Engagement team at LDS is dedicated to building strong connections between the organization and the community it serves. This team develops and implements effective communication strategies to raise awareness about learning differences, promotes the RISE program and other initiatives, and fosters relationships with families, educators, and community stakeholders. Through outreach, social media, and tailored engagement efforts, they aim to empower and inform the community while advocating for systemic change to improve outcomes for children and youth with learning challenges.
