Tamara Warren has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. In 1997, they began freelance writing for various publications, including The New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Elle, covering topics such as automotive, design, tech, music, art, travel, culture, and film. In 1998, they worked as a Special Projects Coordinator and Associate Producer at 430 West Records until 2000. In 2008, they co-founded and served as the Editor for GoTryke.com, focusing on culture, cars, design, art, and social issues. Simultaneously, they also worked as an Associate Editor for Clear Magazine from 2008 to 2009. Starting in 2015, they joined The Verge as a Senior Transportation Reporter and later became the Transportation Editor until 2018. In 2018, they founded Le Car and took on the roles of Chief Executive Officer and Editorial Lead. Additionally, they became a Founding Member of Chief in 2019. Finally, in 2023, they became a Judge for Women's World Car Of The Year (WWCOTY).

Tamara Warren pursued their education in a chronological manner. Tamara first attended Michigan State University from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Relations with a focus on James Madison College, Social Relations, and Jewish Studies. Subsequently, from 2010 to 2012, they attended The New School and completed a Master of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Creative Writing.
