Josh Carson currently serves as the Director of Data and Technology at LEAD Public Schools since May 2023. Prior to this role, Josh Carson held various positions at the Tennessee Department of Education from March 2018 to May 2023, including Senior Director of Research and Data Use and Director of Data Use and Analytics. Earlier experience includes working as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Tennessee Consortium on Research, Evaluation, and Development, and a Visiting Fellow at Education Pioneers in 2016. Josh Carson earned a Master of Public Policy (MPP) with a concentration in Education Policy Analysis from Vanderbilt University and an AB in Theatre and Mathematics from Davidson College, where achievements included roles in numerous theatre productions and significant leadership positions in student organizations.
