Gene Mitchell

Gene is responsible for planning and producing the association’s flagship publication, the bi-monthly LeadingAge magazine. In collaboration with staff and stakeholders, he plans, develops and implements editorial content; writing and/or editing departments and features, interviewing leaders within and outside the association, and assigning articles to freelancers and other contributors, whose work the editor supervises and coaches. With the VP, Gene plans the magazine’s budget and editorial calendar, sets production schedules, maintains workflow and ensures deadlines are met. Additionally, he independently manages the manuscript process and has responsibility for quality control.
