Junaid Iqbal is an accomplished entrepreneur and executive with extensive experience in finance, venture capital, and the creative industries. As the Founder and CEO of Salt Ventures since December 2021, Junaid leads an early-stage venture investing and advisory firm focusing on diverse sectors such as Open Banking and Retail Automation. Junaid has also served as a Partner at Mentors Fund and a member of the Board of Advisors at Lean Technologies since 2020. Prior leadership roles include Managing Director positions at Careem, where Junaid oversaw significant expansion efforts in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and Chief Executive Officer at Elixir Securities, achieving a successful turnaround and divestment for the Dawood Hercules Group. Junaid’s career also includes leadership in financial services and media, such as founding BMA Financial Services and launching CNBC Pakistan. Education includes a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan and executive training at Harvard Business School.
