Mark Adkins has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Mark is the Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of LeanMed, LLC, a medical device company focused on bringing essential treatment to remote regions. Mark also serves as a Director & Chair of the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA), where they support organizations with product innovation and development expertise. Mark is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering and advises the Center for Medical Innovation. Mark is the Founder & President of Smart Hammer Innovation, a management consulting company specializing in product innovation. Mark has also been a Member of SeedInvest and has worked as a Business Mentor for the Blast Furnace and First Gear programs at the University of Pittsburgh. Earlier in their career, they held roles as the Volunteer Executive Director of PDMA Pittsburgh Chapter and as the VP of Marketing and a Board Member for PDMA. Mark's experience also includes Director-level positions at Kennametal, Turnkey Marketing, and Cincinnati Machine, where they led functions such as technology, marketing, and product development.

Mark Adkins obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Xavier University, from the year 1998 to 2002. Additionally, in January 2008, they obtained a certification as a New Product Development Professional from the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA).
