Zhiyang Guo has a long history of work experience, beginning in 2007 as a Research Assistant at the State Key Lab of Advanced Optical Communication Systems and Networks, where they worked with Prof. Yaohui Jin on bandwidth-efficient delivery of IPTV programs using multi-root multicast spanning trees. In 2008, they became a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Stony Brook University, and also a Research Assistant at High Performance Computing and Networking Research Laboratory, where they were advised by Prof. Yuanyuan Yang on data center networks, with focus on mathematical modeling, algorithms design and architectures. In 2014, they became a Software Engineer at Modeling Infrastructure team at Rocket Fuel Inc. In 2016, they moved to Airbnb as a Software Engineer. Finally, in 2017, they became the Chief Technology Officer at 上海拓源数据技术有限公司.
Zhiyang Guo obtained a B.E. in Information Technology from Shanghai Jiao Tong University between 2004 and 2008. Zhiyang then went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Stony Brook University between 2008 and 2014.
