Jackie Young

Jackie Young has extensive experience in various roles and industries. They began their career as a Communications/PR Consultant at Gen-i in 2008. From there, Jackie worked in Marketing and Communications at LexisNexis (Reed Elsevier) from 2009 to 2010. In 2010, they joined Information Tools as a Communications professional.

In 2011, Jackie became the Executive Director of Marketing & Student Recruitment at Media Design School, where they successfully expanded the school's global brand and managed marketing initiatives. They also served as the Director of Strategic Projects at the school, leading initiatives in entrepreneurship and innovative digital content.

Jackie then joined ecentre at Massey University in 2017 as the Chief Executive Officer. In this role, they collaborated with stakeholders to spearhead the ecentre and managed the delivery of the Callaghan Innovation Founder Incubator Services Programme. They were responsible for developing strategic programs for startup founders and forging strategic alliances and partnerships.

In 2020, Jackie worked as an Advisor in the Transformation Project for Sport New Zealand, contributing to the organization's vision of increasing participation and self-sufficiency in sports. They joined Business Advisory Services in the same year as a Startup Advisor.

Most recently, Jackie held roles at FileInvite, starting as the Vice President - Customer (Product & Marketing) and later becoming the Chief Growth Officer. In these positions, they aligned product, marketing, and revenue functions, focused on delivering value to customers and investors, and championed product-led growth motions and cross-functional ways of working.

In 2023, Jackie is set to join LeapThought as the VP of Marketing & Growth.

Jackie Young earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in French and International Affairs from the University of Puget Sound, graduating in 1992. Jackie went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in French from Middlebury College and completed their studies in 1993. In addition to their academic achievements, Jackie has obtained several certifications. These include the Reforge Growth Series from Reforge in May 2023, the PLG Certified from ProductLed in 2022, the Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from Scrum.org in November 2021, the Growth Academy Certification from Startup Commons Global in 2020, the Lean Startup Mentor Training Certification from LEANSTACK in 2019, and the Business Incubation Management Certificate Programme from InBIA, International Business Innovation Association in 2017.
