Javier Perez is an accomplished Lead Material Artist at PlayStation since February 2019, contributing to notable projects such as "The Last of Us Part I" and "Concord," while also serving as a Senior Staff Material Artist on "The Last of Us Part II" and "Returnal." In addition to industry work, Javier holds mentoring and instructing roles at Think Tank Training Centre, Gnomon School of Visual Effects, and Laguna College of Art and Design, focusing on advanced techniques in texturing and materials for games. Javier's prior experience includes positions as Senior Environment Artist at Intrepid Studios and environmental roles at Redemption Games, Infinity Ward, and Dekogon, where expertise in Unreal Engine and Substance Designer was applied to create high-quality assets and environments. Javier earned a Bachelor of Science in Game Art & Design from The Art Institutes and a High School Diploma in Art from Bonita Vista High School.
