Jim McKay has over 25 years of experience in software development. Jim started their career at Dell Inc. in 1997 as a Software Developer, working on internal websites and applications related to supply chain management. In 2006, they joined American Achievement Corporation as a Sr. Software Developer, responsible for developing and maintaining public websites and internal tools for electronic commerce. Jim then worked at BancVue as a Senior Developer from 2009 to 2012, leading a team to create a new transfer application.

In 2012, they joined The Advisory Board Company as a Senior Software Engineer, where they designed and implemented a provider matching algorithm and improved the member import java application. In 2017, Jim joined Certica Solutions as a Senior Software Engineer before being promoted to Principal Software Engineer in 2019. Jim worked on various projects related to software engineering until 2020.

Most recently, Jim worked at Instructure as a Senior Software Engineer from 2021 to 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Principal Software Engineer at Learning Explorer, where they continue to apply their expertise and contribute to the development of software solutions.

Jim McKay attended Okanagan University College from 1996 to 1998, where they studied mathematics. Jim then went on to Concordia University Texas from 2005 to 2007, where they earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
