Michael Koops

Michael Koops has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Michael has held various leadership roles in the education sector, including being a Head of School at Gymnasium Blankenese and Heilwig-Gymnasium, as well as Head of Studienkolleg Hamburg. Michael also served as the Deputy Head of Lehrerprüfungsamt in Hamburg. Additionally, Michael has been involved in school inspection teams and worked as a School Inspector and Expert in Middle and High School Education at Institut für Bildungsmonitoring und Qualitätsentwicklung. Michael has also contributed to the field of education as a Freelanced Textbook Author for STARK Verlagsgesellschaft, focusing on Behavioral Biology. On top of these experiences, they have served as the Head of School at the German International School of Silicon Valley, where they promoted multiculturalism and bilingual education. Currently, they are the Head of Youth Innovation Center at Hammerbrooklyn.DigitalCampus, working towards shaping the future of cities. Michael's expertise lies in educational leadership, curriculum development, and fostering innovation in education.

Michael Koops attended the University of Hamburg from 1987 to 1993, where they obtained their 1. Staatsexamen (1st State examination), which is equivalent to a Master's degree. Their studies included Biology, German, Education, and Journalism. Following their time at the University of Hamburg, from 1994 to 1996, Michael attended the Landesinstitut für Lehrerbildung in Hamburg/Department of Teacher Education, where they earned their 2. Staatsexamen (2nd State examination) with a focus on German, Biology, and Education.
