Gary O'Brien

Gary O'Brien has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Gary is currently working at Learnlight as the Head of Engineering, a role they took on in September 2021. Prior to this, they were the Software Engineering Manager at Learnlight from January 2021 to September 2021.

In 2022, Gary started working at GOtech Consulting Limited as the Director & CTO in November.

Before their current roles, Gary worked at Validis as the Software Engineering Lead, where they managed platform-wide and operational process changes, directed development resources, and provided thought leadership and strategy for technically-focused accounting review and lending practices. Additionally, Gary worked at Sysrepublic as a Technical Consultant and at Consider Solutions as a Technology Consultant, focusing on governance, risk, and compliance.

Furthermore, Gary gained work experience at Virtual Walkthrough, Mace, and Tesco in various roles during the early years of their career.

Gary O'Brien attended the University of Hertfordshire from 2008 to 2011, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Prior to attending university, Gary O'Brien completed their secondary education at St Joan of Arc School from 2000 to 2007. Furthermore, Gary O'Brien has obtained various certifications, including an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in May 2021, a Python 3 certification from SoloLearn in July 2019, an SQL Fundamentals certification from SoloLearn in July 2019, a C# certification from SoloLearn in May 2019, a Java certification from SoloLearn in May 2019, and a Professional certification from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in December 2014. Additionally, Gary O'Brien holds a C# & SQL certification from TestDome, although the specific dates of obtaining this certification are not provided.
