Derek Cavanagh

Derek Cavanagh has a strong background in finance and accounting with over 20 years of experience. Derek started their career as an Assurance Senior Associate at KPMG Peat Marwick in 2000. After six years, they joined KPMG as a Transaction Services Associate Director, where they led and participated in due diligence engagements for private equity investors and provided financial reporting advice. In 2010, Derek moved to Deloitte as a Senior Manager, where they focused on managing client relationships and overseeing financial engagements. In 2013, they joined Mitsui (USA) as a Director of Investment Management, where they reviewed investment decisions and served as a board director for various portfolio companies. Derek's interest in software as a service business models was particularly valuable in this role. Since 2016, they have been working as the CFO of LearnUpon, contributing their expertise in finance and strategic decision-making to the company.

Derek Cavanagh began their education at University College Dublin in 1996, where they pursued a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting. Derek successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 1999. Afterward, Derek went on to attend the University College Dublin once again and attained a Masters of Accountancy degree in 2000. Following their postgraduate education, Derek enrolled in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland in 2002, obtaining their chartered accountant qualification.
