Ben Dowd

Ben Dowd is an experienced executive with a diverse background in various industries. Ben currently serves as the Group Chief Commercial Officer at Lebara since September 2021. Prior to this, they were the Non Executive Chairman and Co-founder at Exsellance from February 2019 to November 2021. Ben also held the position of CEO at Onecom from November 2018 to October 2020. Ben has extensive experience in mentoring startups, working as a Mentor to Startups at PUBLIC from April 2018 to April 2019, and as a Business Mentor for Startups at The Prince's Trust from March 2018 to April 2019. Before their role at Onecom, Ben worked as an Advisor to Startups at Momentum London from July 2017 to November 2018. Ben has a strong background in telecommunications, having held various leadership positions at O2 (Telefónica UK) from 2002 to 2017, including Group Sales Director, Business Director, and Business Sales Director. Prior to their time at O2, Ben worked at BT Cellnet in finance roles from 1995 to 2002. Ben started their career at Digital Computer Services, where they held various senior finance roles from 1992 to 1995.

Ben Dowd attended Cork Regional College from 1985 to 1987, where they pursued a degree in Accountancy specializing in CIMA (Chartered Inst Mgt Acct's).

Apart from their formal education, Ben Dowd also acquired the certification of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants ACMA - FCMA in 1991.
