Principal Scientist for Resilient Systems

Robert Templeman, Ph.D., is an experienced cybersecurity professional with a distinguished career in leading full-spectrum cybersecurity initiatives for the US Navy from 2002 until September 2023. As the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Distinguished Engineer for Cybersecurity, Robert oversaw an acquisition command comprising approximately 1500 scientists and engineers while also spearheading science and technology forecasting and strategic investment for internal research and development. Currently, Robert serves as the Chief Engineer and Executive Director of Cybersecurity Innovation at Indiana University's Center for Applied Cybersecurity Research (CACR), collaborating with numerous campuses and research centers. Additionally, Robert holds the position of Principal Scientist for Resilient Systems at Leidos. Robert's academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Purdue University, a Master of Science in Engineering Management from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from Indiana University Bloomington.
