Wayne Smith

Wayne Smith has extensive experience in the engineering field, serving as Chief Engineer at Leidos since February 1990, where leadership of research and development programs has been a primary focus. Prior to this role, Wayne was also Chief Engineer at SAIC from February 1990 to September 2013 with similar responsibilities. Before joining SAIC, Wayne operated an independent consulting business at WLS Consulting from May 1988 to February 1990. Wayne began a career in academia as a Course Coordinator and Research Assistant at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute from September 1986 to May 1988. Wayne holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, both from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
