Neil Smithson is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in simulation, software development, and research within the aerospace and defense sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Simulation and Software Engineer at Leonardo, Neil is involved in navigation research for the FCAS project, specializing in Matlab/Simulink and Kalman Filter implementations. Previously, Neil held senior software engineering roles at MBDA, focusing on missile defense systems and developing software in C++ for Linux environments. Neil’s career also includes positions at Airbus Group Inc. and Assystem, where responsibilities ranged from simulation modeling to software testing and development for aerospace applications.
