Michael Schofield has a diverse and extensive work experience. Michael started their career at Nova Southeastern University Libraries in 2012, where they served as a Web Services Librarian III. During their tenure, Michael played a crucial role in designing and developing the web services for the university library system, leading interdepartmental projects, and overseeing user research and development for multiple redesigns and web applications.
After working at Nova Southeastern University Libraries for five years, Michael joined Springshare in 2017 as a Sr., Lead Developer for LibCRM. Here, they utilized their development skills to contribute to the creation of LibCRM.
In 2018, Michael moved on to WhereBy.Us, where they held multiple positions. Michael initially served as a Sr., Lead UX Developer, responsible for identifying business opportunities through user experience research. Michael also designed and established the core microservices and the company's design system. Michael further developed a workflow called the "service reactor" to reduce strategic risk. Later, they were promoted to the role of Director of Engineering, where they played a key role in designing and directing the early stages of the Letterhead product suite.
Currently, Michael Schofield is working at Letterhead as the Director of Engineering and is also serving as the Interim Head of Product. In this role, they oversee the coordination of product development and the long-term strategic roadmap. Michael is responsible for hiring and organizing a product engineering team to design features for various opportunities.
Michael Schofield has a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English and World Literature from Western Michigan University, which they obtained from 2004 to 2007. Michael then pursued further education at Florida State University from 2009 to 2011 and earned a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) degree with a specialization in Digital Libraries.
