Michael Wara

Michael Wara serves as the Senior Director of Policy at Stanford University's Sustainability Accelerator and has extensive experience in climate and energy policy. Wara has directed initiatives focused on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and has provided policy advice to various governmental and non-governmental organizations. In addition to teaching environmental law as an Associate Professor at Stanford Law School, Wara has held consulting roles related to wildfire risk management and electricity policy. Wara's academic background includes a JD from Stanford Law School, a PhD in Ocean Sciences from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a BA in Philosophy from Columbia University.
