Raimonds Samofals

Raimonds Samofals has a diverse work experience spanning over many years. Raimonds currently holds a position as the Engineering Lead at Levelpath, starting in May 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Lead Engineer at Fractal from January 2021 to September 2021.

In 2019, Samofals joined Workday as the Senior Manager of Software Development Engineering, a role they held from December 2019 to July 2020. Before that, they spent several years at Scout RFP, starting in August 2014. At Scout RFP, they began as a full stack Ruby on Rails developer and evolved into various roles, including Team Lead and Engineering Lead. Raimonds was heavily involved in all aspects of the startup, from coding and planning to leading the engineering team.

Their earlier experiences include owning and leading SIA "Samofals" as the Owner/Lead Developer from January 2012 to December 2019, serving as the European Back End Development Lead at Gruvi from January 2012 to August 2014, and being a Co-founder and CTO at Nippo IT from August 2011 to June 2013.

Samofals began their career as a Software Developer at Tieto Latvia from October 2010 to December 2011 and later worked as a Testing Team Leader at FMS Software from March 2007 to March 2010. Raimonds started their professional journey as a System Analyst at BALTA part of RSA Group from May 2005 to March 2007.

Throughout their career, Samofals has gained expertise in various technologies and tools, including Ruby, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, RSpec, Jenkins, Git, and more. Raimonds has a strong background in full stack development and has proven their leadership skills through their experiences in managing teams and projects.

Raimonds Samofals has a solid education background in the field of IT. Starting in 1996, they attended Riga Technical College, where they pursued a degree in Software Engineering. Raimonds completed this program in 2001 and then went on to further their education at Riga Technical University. From 2001 to 2004, they studied at the university and obtained a Bachelor's degree in IT.
