Every local community needs a core group of caring, engaged citizens who will consider stepping forward to run for local office. Taking on the most challenging issues of the day isn’t for the faint of heart–but it could be one of the most rewarding things you ever decide to do.  

Do you enjoy learning “how things work”...from water management and the city budget, to affordable housing and downtown revitalization? Do you want to sharpen your leadership skills? In L3, you’ll gain broad-based knowledge in many areas of public policy, in addition to everything you’ll need to know in order to run a successful campaign. 

L3 is a six-month program, one Friday a month from January through June, where students learn how to run a local campaign while also learning about the major public policy issues facing Northern Colorado. Keep in mind that there is no “credential” barrier to entry in politics. All it takes is a willingness to learn how local government works and a desire to get involved.
