Consultancies charge you £2,000 a day for people who've never built anything. They'll run workshops, produce a 60-page strategy document, and then leave you to figure out how to actually execute it. Good luck with that.

Dev shops are the opposite problem. They'll build whatever you ask for. Exactly what you ask for. Even when what you're asking for is wrong. Nobody in the room is going to challenge your brief because they're billing by the hour, and your bad idea is keeping the lights on.

Both models have the same flaw: they separate the thinking from the building. The strategists never ship. The builders never question. And you end up paying twice for half the result.
