Payam began their career as an IS Associate/Intern at MicroStrategy, Inc in 2007.
From 2008 to 2012, Payam worked at ProQuest where they held multiple roles, including Software Developer and Technical Support Specialist. In these positions, they gained experience in object-oriented programming, Java, Perl, MySQL, MongoDB, Linux environments, and various web development technologies. Payam also managed projects and provided support to customers.
In 2012, Payam joined Tessella as an Analyst Programmer, where they contributed to the development of the Data Conservancy Service for Johns Hopkins University. Payam'sresponsibilities included addressing UI bugs, enhancing functionality, and working on the ingest pipeline of BagIt submission information packages.
Payam then joined TEMIS in 2013 as a Software Engineer. Payam played a significant role in the development of Luxid Navigator, a CODiE award-winning software. Payam was involved in backend and frontend architecture design and development, utilizing technologies such as MongoDB, Solr, and Java processes.
In 2015, they co-founded Ascendant Software Technology, LLC. As the founder, Payam was involved in all aspects of the company's operations and software development.
Later in 2015, Payam joined Lexical Intelligence as the Chief Software Engineer. In this role, they held responsibilities relating to software development and engineering.

Payam Meyer completed their Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from the University of Indianapolis from 2004 to 2007. Payam then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science at The Johns Hopkins University, which they completed from 2011 to 2014.
