Simon Black has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Simon is currently the Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer at Lexical Labs, where they are responsible for sales and business development. Lexical Labs is focused on developing an AI-driven contract analysis engine that simplifies contract management and negotiation.
Prior to their role at Lexical Labs, Simon worked as an Investor and Consultant for Zenobe Energy Limited, a leading independent battery storage operator in the UK. Simon provided legal services, fundraising, and structuring advice to the company, which specializes in battery storage and frequency response solutions for National Grid and other customers.
Simon also served as an Investor and Non-Executive Director at Legatics, an online deal platform for intelligent legal transactions. Additionally, they had a long tenure at Allen & Overy, where they worked as a Partner for 25 years.
Before starting their career in the private sector, Simon served as a Sub Lieutenant in the Royal Navy.
Simon Black attended Canford School from 1981 to 1985, where they obtained their A Levels in various subjects. Simon then went on to attend Durham University from 1986 to 1989, earning an LLB in Law and Economics. In 1991, they attended the College of Law in Guildford, where they completed their Law Finals in 1992.
