Erik Schepens

Erik Schepens has extensive work experience in the field of laboratory research and analysis. Erik is currently employed as a Senior Lab Technician at Leyden Labs since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at HALIX B.V. as an Associate Scientist from April 2020 to May 2023.

From February 2013 to April 2020, Erik held the position of Senior Technician Protein Characterisation at HAL Allergy. In this role, they developed and validated various HPLC and UPLC methods for the characterization of allergy vaccines. Erik also trained technicians at the QC laboratory on the implementation of these assays.

Before joining HAL Allergy, Erik worked as a Senior Research Assistant at Pharming from December 2008 to January 2013. Erik was responsible for conducting research activities.

Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Technician at Crucell from September 2007 to November 2008, where they developed HPLC methods for the characterization of recombinant glycoproteins.

Erik's career started at OctoPlus in May 1999, where they held multiple roles. Erik initially worked as a Senior Technician Analytical Biochemistry and Lab Supervisor from June 2001 to August 2007. In this position, they supervised day-to-day lab activities, introduced new HPLC/UPLC systems, and trained colleagues. Erik then transitioned to a Senior Technician role from May 1999 to May 2001, where they participated in formulation and stability projects, conducted method development and validation, and gained experience in various analytical techniques.

Prior to their industry experience, Erik worked at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam as a Research Technician from May 1987 to April 1999, and as a Research Analyst from January 1986 to April 1987.

Erik Schepens completed their education in a chronological order. Erik first attended the Fontys University of Applied Sciences from 1978 to 1981, where they obtained a degree in Clinical Chemistry at the MBO level. Erik then continued their studies at the same institution from 1981 to 1983, earning a degree in Clinical Chemistry at the HBO-A level. Lastly, from 1988 to 1991, Erik attended the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, where they obtained a degree in Analytical Chemistry at the HLO level.
