Characterization Engineer at Li Industries

Dylan Petersen has a diverse work experience, primarily in the field of materials science and engineering. They have worked as a Characterization Engineer at Li Industries since 2023. Prior to that, at Virginia Tech, Dylan served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for multiple courses in the Materials Science & Engineering Department, assisting professors with various tasks such as preparing rubrics, grading assignments and exams, providing office hours, supervising students during experiments, and occasional guest lecturing. They also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher in the Yu Research Group, contributing to a Master's Project and publishing two journal articles. Additionally, Dylan worked as an Undergraduate Student Researcher in the same research group, investigating the effects of milling process parameters on particle size. They also served as a Tutor in the Student Success Center, providing support to undergraduate students in various subjects. Furthermore, they gained experience as a Lab Assistant Intern in the Kathy Lu Group, where they assisted with various tasks and conducted statistical and composition analyses.

Dylan Petersen pursued their education in the field of Materials Science and Engineering. Dylan obtained their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from Virginia Tech College of Engineering in 2019, with a minor in Mathematics. Following this, they continued their studies at the same institution and acquired a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Materials Science and Engineering in 2021.
