Drew Daniels has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Drew began their career in 1999 at the University of Manitoba as part of the Consulting Team, providing support for Mac, PC, and Unix equipment, computer lab users, and printer maintenance. In 2001, they briefly worked as a Security Analyst for the Government of Manitoba, responsible for creating and maintaining test labs.
Following that, Drew worked at Linear Systems Ltd from 2003 to 2007 as a Programmer/Analyst. Their responsibilities included developing and maintaining applications and APIs for MPEG transmission and analysis, diagnosing hardware and software issues, and working with Windows and Linux drivers.
Drew then joined Pollard Banknote Ltd in 2007, where they continued as a Programmer/Analyst until 2011. During their tenure, they conducted programming tasks using C# and MySQL and maintained servers for svn, samba, and MySQL.
Afterward, Drew worked at Pollard Banknote from 2011 to 2014 as an IT Infrastructure professional. In this role, they focused on system integration and network architecture, including tasks such as planning, VLANs, subnets, firewalls, and routers.
Since 2014, they have been with Librestream, initially serving as an IT Manager and currently as the Director of IT. Their responsibilities at Librestream include managing the IT department, hosted services, and information security and compliance. Drew also assists customers and prospective customers.
Overall, Drew has developed a strong skill set in IT management, system integration, network architecture, programming, and technical support throughout their career.
Drew Daniels studied Computer Science at the University of Manitoba from 1998 to 2003, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. Prior to that, they completed their high school education and obtained a High School Diploma from Shaftesbury High School from 1995 to 1998. It is unclear when and where Drew obtained various certifications, including Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) from ISACA in February 2021, Business Start Program from the Government of Manitoba in July 1999, and Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate from Microsoft in May 2021.
