Lichfield Cathedral School is a non-selective, independent day school for girls and boys aged 2 and a half to 18 based on two sites. Nursery to Year 4 are based at our Longdon site, nestled in six acres of beautiful countryside, while Years 5 to 13 study at our Lichfield site in the heart of the medieval Cathedral Close. The School is Highly Recommended by the Good Schools Guide.

One of the most highly regarded schools in Staffordshire, with a reputation for delivering an exceptional educational experience, the Cathedral School fosters a strong work ethic that encourages independence, confidence and leadership. Small class sizes, excellent facilities and outstanding teaching ensure that our pupils reach their full academic potential.

Guided by four core principles of Learning, Leadership, Faith and Service, the School’s educational philosophy is rooted in an understanding that each pupil is gloriously different with unique talents and distinct qualities. The School nurtures these talents, instills a love of learning and educates the whole person. When they leave the school, students have the knowledge, skills, resilience and confidence to thrive in further education and beyond.

The School values academic achievement and a challenging curriculum encourages students to be ambitious in their academic aims, clearly demonstrated through excellent GCSE, A Level and BTEC results and value-added scores. Dedicated teaching staff, passionate about both their subject area and students’ aspirations, provide valuable continuity in the transition from Year 11 to Sixth Form.

Classroom education is complemented by an extensive co-curriculum programme of sport, drama, art and music, plus public speaking, debate, Forest School, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme and many more activities. The School is committed to competitive sport and benefits from professional facilities on site and at nearby partners, such as Lichfield Sports Club and Beacon Park.
