He is a three-time entrepreneur successfully raising capital, and building and selling companies with the mission of leaving a legacy to prove that our generation did indeed fix healthcare in the U.S.
Janak Joshi’s entrepreneurial roots began as a Masters of Business Administration graduate student at Bentley when he was involved in his first start-up venture, CampusCareerCenter.com. Since then, he has been co-founder and CIO at Synestesi Technologies (also incubated at Bentley University and sold to Spry Media Group), CIO at Generation Health (sold to CVS Caremark), CEO at Type I Diabetes Exchange, before his current role as Chief Technology Officer and head of strategy at Life Image.
In addition to his professional positions, Janak has also led global ventures with Partners Healthcare System, Siemens Healthcare, and Deloitte’s Life Sciences & Healthcare Practice, which manages a multi-hundred-million dollar-portfolio of products.
Additionally, Janak has served as an advisor to United States Department of Defense contractors – Asynchrony Solutions and Schaffer Corporation in areas of proximity solutions, patient safety, and IoT. He also has experience working on buy-side due diligence and early stage venture investments at Brooke Ventures, Federal Street Capital, and Progress Partners, focusing on telecom infrastructure, ad serving tech, and medication therapies for oncology.
Janak currently serves a Board Member of Bentley Venture Capital Funds one of the judges for MassChallenge and is an advisor to early stage start-ups in the bio-pharmaceutical and healthcare IT space. He continues to serve with pride in the U.S.A.F. Search & Rescue Squadron 1001st-PA as a 1st Lt.
