Igor Arouca

Igor Arouca is the CTO of Liferay Cloud. Igor has over 15 years of experience in the software development industry.

Igor started their career as a software developer intern at Globalcode in 2005. Igor then went on to work as a software developer at Objective Solutions from 2006 to 2009. In 2010, Igor became a software development coach at Objective Solutions and held this position until 2011.

In 2012, Igor took on an IT strategy consulting project at Natura, a cosmetics company with $3B in annual revenue. Igor was responsible for developing a mobile strategy for the company and identifying key sponsors to invest in an initial suite of mobile apps. Igor successfully mapped and delivered a set of functionalities to be implemented in the future, providing a road map for the establishment of a mobile ecosystem to support the firm’s network of 1.6 million direct sales consultants.

Igor joined Liferay in 2018 and currently serves as the CTO of Liferay Cloud. In this role, they are responsible for leading the engineering team and overseeing all technical aspects of the product.

Igor Arouca has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Information Technology Project Management and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) from Universidade de São Paulo in Computer Engineering. Igor also has certification from Sun Microsystems in Sun Certified Java Programmer.

Their manager is Fernando Areias, CEO, Liferay Cloud.
