Thomas Gilbert

Thomas Gilbert has extensive work experience in the publishing industry. Thomas started their career as a Production Editor at Service Merchandise, where they developed and designed various promotional materials. Thomas then moved on to Winston-Derek Publishing Group, where they worked as a Production Manager and Editor, overseeing all aspects of production and quality for internationally distributed books.

In 1997, Gilbert joined Lightning Source/Danka Services Intl. as a Site Manager, where they led the operations and personnel of a print-on-demand facility. Thomas was responsible for project and publisher onboarding, color correction, and digital file processing.

Gilbert's next role was at iUniverse.com as a Publishing Operations Manager and Print Supply Chain Manager. Thomas managed the day-to-day operations of the customized book print-on-demand network, establishing guidelines for print vendors and implementing quality control processes.

In 2001, Gilbert became the Executive Director of Digital Strategy and Business Technology at United Methodist Publishing House. During their tenure, they developed and implemented a formal operational plan to support the organization's digital strategy and business growth. Thomas also implemented and maintained the organization's digital asset management systems.

Most recently, Gilbert served as the Director of Publishing and Product Technology at Lifeway Christian Resources. In this role, they oversaw the publishing and event technology infrastructure and was responsible for the creation and distribution of digital content and metadata. Thomas successfully increased digital product revenue from less than 1% to over 11% of total revenue in less than 5 years.
