Paul Weatheroy

Paul Weatheroy was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, growing up in NE Portland and attending Madison High School. He attended the University of Portland on a baseball scholarship and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management.

His father was the first Black police sergeant in Portland Police Bureau’s (PPB) history, and two of his siblings worked for the bureau. Paul was with the bureau for 29 years, from patrol officer to community liaison officer to defensive tactics instructor. He spent 25 years in Investigations, including but not limited to Drugs, Gangs, Homicides, Cold Case Homicides, and Hostage Negotiations.

In 2015, he retired from the PPB as a lieutenant in charge of the K-9 unit, Traffic Division, Fatal Crash Team, and Emergency Management unit. He spent the next 5 years as chief investigator and victim services manager for DA Rod Underhill. In July 2020, he retired from the DA’s office.
