Hydrogen Safety Engineering Lead at LIFTE H2

Daniel H. has a diverse work experience, primarily focused on safety engineering and hydrogen technology. Daniel currently holds the position of Hydrogen Safety Engineering Lead at LIFTE H2, starting in October 2021. Daniel is also an Adjunct Lecturer for Hydrogen Safety at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt, starting in October 2022. Prior to these roles, Daniel worked as a Senior Expert in Whole Vehicle and Integral Vehicle Safety at BMW Group from August 2020 to October 2021. Daniel also held the position of Senior Expert in Safety Alternative Propulsion Systems at BMW Group from May 2018 to October 2021. Before joining BMW Group, Daniel worked at STINGEL CONSULTING GmbH as a Senior Expert in Safety Hydrogen Technology from November 2014 to April 2018. Daniel gained experience in product safety and technical documentation at MTU Onsite Energy, where they held various roles including Head of CE/Product Safety/Technical Documentation and Senior Expert in CE and Safety from 2008 to 2013. Daniel also worked as an Expert in the Department of Gas Systems/Hydrogen Technology at TÜV Süd from 2007 to 2008 and as a Technical Expert for EU gas vehicles at TÜV Süd from 2003 to 2006. Additionally, they have previous experience as a Technical Academic Research Assistant at IMH - INSTITUT für Motorenbau München and completed an internship in Engine Construction at IMH - INSTITUT für Motorenbau München.

Daniel H. studied at the Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences from 1997 to 2002, where they obtained a degree in Automotive Engineering, specifically a Dipl.-Ing. (FH). Prior to that, they completed their A-level exams, known as Abitur, at the Carl-Spitzweg-Gymnasium. The field of study for their Abitur was mathematical-scientific.

In terms of additional certifications, Daniel H. received the certification of Technical Expert Gas Vehicles from TÜV SüD Auto Service GmbH in October 2016. In June 2012, they obtained the certification of Certified CE Coordinator from TÜV CERT Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH. Lastly, in April 2005, Daniel H. became an Authorized Inspector according to ECE regulations (ECE-R 67, ECE-R 110, ECE-R 115, EIHP-Drafts (H2), and §41a StVZO) through the TÜV SüD Group.
