Prior to their time at Shell, Ian worked at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems. Ian held the role of Accuracy Analyst/Senior Systems Engineer from March 2013 to September 2014. In this role, they used advanced physics and statistics to model the accuracy of architectural designs for the Air Force's next generation ICBM guidance system. Ian also collaborated with the Business Development and Program Management organizations, supporting inertial guidance and navigation opportunities. Ian also participated in the Engineering Leadership Program from July 2010 to May 2013, where they gained experience through diverse rotations and special projects while earning their Masters degree.
Ian Monk completed their education with a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Systems Architecting and Engineering from the University of Southern California, attended from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Ian also holds a certification as a Certified Scrum Master, obtained from the Scrum Alliance in May 2016.
