Andrew Chalmers has over 25 years of experience in the software engineering field. Andrew began their career in 1994 at Motorola Australia as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2005, they moved to Ellex Medical as an Embedded Software Engineer, where they developed embedded software for Ellex's range of Ophthalmic Lasers. In 2010, they were sub-contracted to Cohda Wireless to help develop the framework for their MKIII 802. 11p in-car radio. Andrew then moved to RF Industries in 2011 as an Embedded Software Engineer, developing embedded control software for Digital Radio Repeaters and antenna test equipment. In 2012, they held two positions at the same time, one at Cohda Wireless as a Software Engineer and one at Schneider Electric as a Senior Firmware Engineer. At Schneider Electric, they were part of the LifeSpace Electronics R&D Team and designed and developed firmware for Clipsals comercial and domestic control products. In 2016, they joined XPED as a Firmware Engineer, where they designed and implemented Xped's ADRC IoT device technology. In 2019, they moved to Sentek as a Senior Firmware Engineer, where they explored and developed IoT based solutions for Sentek's Bluetooth enabled Soil Moisture sensors. In 2020, they joined ADVAM as a Senior Firmware Developer. Theircurrent role is at LIFX, where they are a Firmware Team Lead and Senior Firmware Engineer.
Andrew Chalmers obtained a Bachelor degree in Electronic Engineering from the South Australian Institute of Technology between 1986 and 1999. Andrew then went on to obtain a Masters in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of South Australia between 1990 and 1993.
